Hey everyone.

I need to run a cable from my battery into the cab through the firewall. I've searched the internet and also had a good look around the doblo but can't see where to run a cable. Any ideas?

Thanks

I've done this. I installed a leisure battery with a split relay charger so I had to take a feed from the battery under the bonnet.

If you open the glove compartment and have a look behind it you'll find a large bunch of wires that are routed through the firewall.

I was able to take a feed from the batter, underneath the windscreen wiper cowl, then through the hole the bunch of wires use.

I'll try and get some pictures for you but it was easy once I found the bunch of wires and the hole they use.

Amazing thanks. If you can upload some pictures that would be a huge help

BoardinBob: Do you have the steering wheel on the left or the right?
I suspect my 2016 Doblo won't be much different than a 2011 one and I'll have to run some wiring and a boost/vacuum-line through the firewall soon, it sure would help knowing where to look!

Greetings,
Isabelle

Did you need to remove the glovebox to achieve this? Also did you need to remove the windscreen wiper cowl? (if thats even possible).

No, need to remove anything. If you open the glovebox you can see all the wiring, back of the firewall etc. It's all open, or at least it is on mine. Similarly I just fed the wire through a small gap in the wiper cowl. No need to remove anything there either.

Great. Ill take a look. Out of interest what year and version is your doblo?

Van looks real nice in silver.

Also thanks so much for the pictures. these will be a huge help!

Hi
Did you get your cable through given the excellent advice I've read here?
I found the big bunch of cables BoardinBob refers to - there's a large blue rectangular box with loads of stuff going in/out - looks a bit like an old laptop ac/dc converter. But I can't find the place where it all goes through the firewall.

Hey yes I did.

If you open the bonet then lift up the bit or rubber/plastic that sits on the windscreen and above the firewall you will see a couple of rubber gromets. these should have plugs in so just pull the plug out, push a wire through and you will see the wire appear behind the glove compartment in the cab.

Hope this helps.

Hello again, been at it this afternoon, and could find no way in. I had the wiper cowl off and could see nothing. The bonnet release cable is a possible route - but getting near enough the intake grommet is a no go and there's no way through from the cab side. I had to take the glove box out and loosen the carpet and still couldn't get near.
Anyway, all not lost. I've found a way through the wing / windscreen and rubbers and "door-open" sensor inside the door jamb that then can be threaded through an intake for the van rear end loom. So Mr Heath Robinson lives again!
