hi all

ive got a doblo 1.9 jtd elx and want to squeeze abit more power out of it so got a few questions if any 1 can help

i want to put a bigger intercooler on so has any 1 done this and what cooler did you use? i havent had the bumper off so dont how much room is in there

what air filter can be used cone or panel

any exhaust mods that can be done to help it breath

and what mapping options are there for it

ant help would be great thanks

I've heard that angel tuning can do good work. Also, longlife exhausts can build a full stainless exhaust with almost unlimited possibilities. I used longlife in Carshalton in the past and they were really good. There was also a cheap cafe nearby doing all day breakfasts!

A custom remap. Pointless doing intercooler unless your upgrading turbo. De carbonisation is unreal and well worth the money. A lot of money and time. Doing the brakes to drilled and grooved is worth it. Also put the Brembo pads in to stop fade and locking up. Also k&n cone filter. Well worth it. The jtd has so much to give. Just don't ever forget that everything is designed for not much more than what it's givin out already but the list is endless providing the funds are available.

thanks for the replies

my doblo is my work horse and carry alot of my tools in the week and wanted just abit more power due to the weight i carry.

but its abit of a hobbie aswell tuning cars up alittle and making them alittle different, its the first diesel car ive had so dont really know anything about these engines and what you can do with them.

i have looked into getting some brakes because the brakes on mine are terrible really got to push hard on the brakes to get it to stop

whats the De carbonisation and is it a garage visit of something i can do my self

thanks

De carbonisation is the removal of carbon deposits throughout the entire engine. A guy came out and did it in the rain just over 100, takes about an hour. A machine in the back if his van runs instead of my fuel tank. Connected up like its on life support. The difference is unreal. Doblos jtds deposit too much crap. All the carbon in the engine is just pushed out the exhaust.

so it basically flushes all the crap thats built up in the engine and clears it out so everything can flow better

is this a common thing that can be done by most garages then

Specialist people only. It requires a de carbonisation machine. Although there's nothing against a garage owning one...

I've used Angel three times now and found them to be first class for Re-maps. The extra power makes the whole car much more user friendly.
The only problem is the clutch, if you don't get the revs right , it just spins up slipping like mad until your speed increases and then it catches up(any gear). Casual flooring of the accelerator doesn't work, there is too much torque, you must be in the right gear.
With Doblos the dual mass flywheel adds to the complications making funny juddering noises. I didn't get this noise on my JTD, on my multijet I do>
My current Doblo is my second, the first thing I did was a re-map and I travel half loaded all the time, absolutely brilliant.

Clutch isn't a problem. The flywheel is. I've been waiting weeks for a solid flywheel and clutch conversion. A company down south is apparently making it although I think is full of hot air!! 19weeks so far...

to be honest ive been using tuning power box Doblo 1.9 m-jet 105 hp off fleabay, had really good increase in power , and economy gone up , can be had for around 50£ and you will notice a difference, been on a year no problems, decat pipes available fleabay... to
