Hi guys, I've got a problem with my 1.9jtd cargo and its showing all the signs of needing a new crank sensor. I've got the part from fiat and got under the van today however the problem is I can't find anything that looks like the sensor on my van does anyone have any idea where I sensor ends are located or any advice as I'm really stuck on this one I think its probably there staring me in the face I just can't see it

:chin:

I could only find one small piece of info about the location on the forums (but I'm not as well aquainted with them as lots of the other people on here):

It is located at the
rear of engine, need ramps.

Perhaps T14086 could help with some specifics?

It has also been mentioned that you may spot an old crank sensor simply cable tied on somewhere back there as it is hard to get out if replaced, although I'm not sure if I read that right!

Not sure if any help as it is JTD on a punto. Search this message board under fiat-jtd-crank-rpm-sensor-removal-replacement

Unfortunately the message board will not permit me to post the URL.

right update:

the crank sensor on the 1.9jtd cargo is located to the left of the starter motor and is a cream colour. on this model the sensor is clipped onto the harness with a two pin plug its one the the fiddly ones with a yellow flash across it. remove plug then a single tx40 bolt removed sensor and replaced with a new unit from andrew page £29 and reverse the above. van is sorted now no problems whats so ever.
