Well not quite, I hope,
Drove a few hundred yards from home dipped the clutch to change gear; quickly followed by a loud sound of snapping plastic and the quick realization I could not engage any gears quickly stopped the car and the clutch pedal is all the way to the floor

Quick phone call to Gainmanor where we bought the car from; They told us to phone the AA and arrange for them to get the car to their service department and the AA could also arrange a courtesy car to.

30 minutes later AA arrive and the very, very nice man reassures me it just the plastic linkage on the top of the master cylinder that has broke and duly offered me a courtesy car for 48 hours; which I have declined.

Now just waiting for Gainmanor to get back to me. so as they say watch this space for further updates as my mini drama unfolds

This happened on my 53 reg doblo van just the plastic rod that joins the pedal to the master cylinder

Definately covered under warranty (provided is registered with fiat, which no reason to think otherwise), couple of hours work at most as long as part available.

Well the guys at Gainmanor, Wallsend exceeded my expectations they had my car fixed and ready to collect in less than 24 hours. Unfortunately it will have to wait until tomorrow morning before I will collect it I didn't want to battle rush hour traffic through the Tyne tunnel.

So hopefully the final installment of my first Doblo episode will be tomorrow :D

Well picked the car up late morning and all is well with the world again.

Thanks to the guys at Gainmanor who repaird the car with the minimum of fuss and; in under 24 hours Go to say so far I am impressed with their service to date.

Good to hear it was sorted quickly but this seems to be a common problem on Doblos .

Tell me about it! My 7 month old Doblo has just suffered the same fate - yesterday there was a thunk and the gear pedal stuck flat to the floor - clutch master cylinder push rod split right down the middle. Fortunately I wasn't moving at the time.
Quick call to the AA and it's down to Thames Fiat in Slough, 90 minutes later I'm back on the road - can't fault the service at all - two thumbs up. (y)(y)

I have heard of this issue many a time so perhaps inevitable it will happen, for that reason. How much does the part cost?

No idea, it was fixed for free under warranty and I was so chuffed I forgot to ask. Sorry.
