Having a look at the internal fuse box there seems to be a wire that has been added by a previous owner.

Two red wires with in-line fuse connectors.

I'm not expecting anyone to identify what it's for (unless you think you can) but I was wondering if anyone can say what kind of point it is plugged into? The diagram in the manual only details the fuses and not the other points in the box.

The car does have a tow bar and associated electrics so I suppose it could be related to this, but I've not had a chance to track the wire yet.

I would be over 50% in favour of tow bar electric feeds.

Clues are:

1) Red large (2.5mm squared) cross sectional area wires
2) Presence of two (both possibly fused a 15A each)

One wire will be to supply 12V for the bypass relay that controls and powers the trainer/caravan running lights and to supply 12V to the caravan to charge the on-board battery.

The other will be to supply 12V power to the caravan to run the on-board fridge.

Cheers. I had completely forgotten about the tow bar until I got the end of the post, it does make the most sense.
