I have a Croma 2.2 petrol engine. I have been having problems with the engine cutting out. When it happens when stationary the engine speeds up to about 1200 rpm then it goes down to about 400 then speeds up to about 800 around where it should be then it either ticks over OK or it just suddenly cuts out.
Also over the last two or three days when I accelerate the engine is running like it's running out of fuel then it comes back ok and runs OK. I can drive and accelerate OK then it becomes sluggish again
I have had it in to a garage today and they took the throttle body off and cleaned it. It is ticking over better now but I still have the sluggish power. It perhaps also feels a bit like its misfiring although it might not be.
There have never been any warning lights on the dashboard.
The car was serviced about 2 weeks ago and these problems were not there then. The problems only started a few days ago.
The work today only seems to have helped the stalling problem, although since cleaning the throttle body today it has since stalled 2 times! Which is better as it was stalling repeatedly before!
Any ideas?
Thanks
