Hello

I am a French owner of a 2006 1.9 JTD 150 Cromma with connnect nav + and this is my first post to find some help after read a few posts in this forum.

FM reception is not good with the connect nav+ i changed the antenna (not it's base and wire, just the antenna) without improvement.
As i found the connect nav+ a little outdated i am thinking to replace it with a standard 1 din or 2 din radio without GPS (i prefer bluetooth functionnality and GPS/MP3 through my smartphone).

I know that i must buy this type of accessories to fit the new device :

example for 2 din : http__/www.carteq-autoradio.fr/support-set-integration-cadre-double-din-fiat-croma.html
example for 1 din : http__www.carteq-autoradio.fr/support-autoradio-fiat-croma-rubbertouch.html

But do i need some iso adaptors ? keeping steering wheel buttons is not necessary for me.
I saw i topics related to install a connect nav that plugs on the car and behind the device a isos ones but i am not sure !

For a 2 din i should choos this one :

And this one if it is a 1 din :

But before that i need to be sure that poor radio reception is related to the connect nav and not the wiring between the unit and the antenna (i hope not, i do not think that i am able to unmount the entire roof of the car to check this cable)

thank you for the answers :)

Welcome aboard captain!!
I am not very good with the very technical Navigation etc but I have had problems with the VHF reception when I had corrosion where the aerial screws into the roof fitting. Check this out first and the connection to the bodywork under the fitting , inside the roof lining. a good earth here is very important.
Does the Connect Nav have MW bands as well? , if it does the interference from any poor earth on the aerial will cause it to buzz very badly when the engine is running, due to the alternator giving out static .
Hope this helps ;)

Have you considered a tablet? I'm thinking along the lines of a nexus/playbook myself. Bit of fiddling and wiring for amplification etc but I don't think it'll be too difficult :D

Hello there,

Thank you for answering,

@ tarquin1867 :
I will try to have a look at this aerial screw, when i tested some antennas i noticed that sometimes reception was better when i huged the flexible part of the antenna in my hand... Connect nav as only FM and AM reception

@ CromaFan : I have a Streak 7 but how can it be fitted in the car ??
i can change an autoragio by another one but i am not electrician :p

Just for clarification, AM & MW are the same;). From your reply its obvious to me that you have a poor earth on your aerial.

Thank you for this clarification :)

So i need to check the wiring of the antenne especially ! I ll try this week i ll also try the radio from my other car to see if issue is not on the connect nav...

Hi i am trying to unmount the aerial but as you can see in the photo these plastic things are not screwed... how can i trow them out ?

Edit : i do notthink photo was well uploaded i am talking about the two holes to attach a net

Edit 2 : DL the E learn on this great forum and i saw that these anchors point are fixed by rivets... i do not have the tool to put new ones, and i am not sure that issue is on aerial, what if i test another radio ?
are plugs are iso ?
