Guys there is a nice croma on ebay
05 top spec with everything 74000 miles and cambelt last changed at 57000 miles
Dealer says that is a one owner car and is been traded in for a peugeot?
Look nice and i really fancy buying it and i like to see what you guys think of it
Is in a peugeot dealer in chesterfield
type item no 320855730794 on ebay and it will come up
thanks

Looks good to me, I suppose you might get aa bit knocked off the price if you try. But you get a lot of car for your money.

IMO - Its nice but overpriced, and they wont budge on the price. I think its worth £3200. Road tax is higher @ £245p/year and the auto version does 6.5 mpg less than than the manual, so I think it will only do about 32-34 mpg around town. Lets not pay a lot for our Croma's folks ! How many people on here are thinking of buying one ? How many are thinking of selling one ? Dont forget these cars don't sell well, other than us on here not many people will be looking ! :)

That's a very nice car. It's not Eleganza, but Prestigio which is the top spec as you say.

Assuming service history is all OK, especially timing belt kit at the right time, then I'd say it's one to make an offer on. The price is just a little too high though - it's low mileage but it's also 6.5 years old. But if it's from a dealer and they're chucking in a decent insurance backed warranty (that doesn't exclude everything) then worth a think about.

Please let us know how you go on - I see too many "is this a good car?" threads, with no follow-up!

Other cromas i seen all had same problem, not a good service history doofer
This dealer wont move on price
Cambelt still ok for a while but dealer not very happy to meet me halfway
Basically thats the price and road tax are on top of that and if car has 6 or more months mot left thats what it will be sold with...
Im trying to get a finance sorted and will see what happens
i just got offered a one owner 03 plate ulysse jtd eleganza with low miles at cheap price soo things get complicated...not easy decision

The Croma auto has an Aisin 6 speed box. My 2.4 averages 40 mpg, and recently after a trip reset did the first 15 miles from warm engine at 44.5 mpg, including light traffic, cotswold undulations and finished 200 feet higher than start. The first 3 miles warm up, DPF regen and hilly roads are all against the mpg, but the aisin box is remarkably economical.

I'd assume the dealer's playing games - he knows you love the car so there's a good chance you'll pay the full price (which he knows is too high).

I'd leave him with a note of your phone number and best offer and walk away. If he's got any sense he'll ring in a couple of days. If not then wait for the next one to appear as Dave says.

My 2.4 returns similar figures, which I am very happy with, considering the extra performance. I am currently getting 34mpg, but that has been almost entirely short trips around town. On a 350 mile trip incorporating motorways, dual carriageways and A roads I got 44mpg! :) My 2.4 Marea (manual) got mid 30s on mixed driving but barely crept into the 40s on a 1500 mile trip to Scotland.

Well thats it!
Dealer wont wont do any discount...
my problem is that i dont have that amount of cash and im buying car with finance as bank simply wont give me a loan cheaper than 20% interest!
I guess this are the effect of the credit crunch
I bought the ulysse eleganza, expected delivery on Wednesday
At list i would be still driving something italian!

Glad you didn't get the Croma - nice spec but if dealer refuses to budge in this climate then hell mend 'em. He probably paid about £2k for it so he has plenty of scope.

Hope your Ulysse is a good 'un. And it's as French as a Renault 5. Start pulling bits off and there are Peugeot/Citroen logo's everywhere - which goes some way to explaining the junk quality of a lot of it!! Pity, as the design is very good and practicality excellent.

Ha ha well not even drove ulysse yet and is already broken!
dealer phoned me and basically wont sell me car anymore
the stereo is not working but because is eleganza spec sat nav is built in with stereo...
So needs new unit and fiat wants £2000 for it!!
so is not happy to sell it to me as is not perfect which is fair enough
So still hunting for my next car!!

That may have been a blessing. We've had a French car before.

Have you considered getting... a Croma?
