basically I bought the coop with the turbo gone and it smoking like an old sea captain. I have replaced the turbo with one off my old coupe that I knew was working. I have removed the coil packs and am trying to prime the turbo but the oil gauge will not go up. The only thing I can see that's not connected to anything is a small hose that comes off the waist gate actuator. Anyone got any ideas what the problem is

I hope you've also disconnected the injectors, otherwise you'll be squirting neat fuel into the cylinders, with possible bore wash

The oil pressure should build, but only slowly

Are you sure the oil pressure gauge is OK?

I have unplugged the injectors and the gauge was working before I removed the turbo. It just stays on 0 even though I have been turning the car over for a while
