Hey all, newbie to the forum
Having a midlife crisis.. and im only 16 :S..
Ive got a L reg Cinq SX, and tommorow morning im going out to get a new Headunit.. It will have the ISO Connector..
I thought i was familiar with the ISO standard, then i saw this:
http://web.onetel.net.uk/~uncletony/in_car.htm
If the above is correct, then my harness:
http://www.teambodgebikes.co.uk//fiat/DSCF0062.jpg
Is correct..
However, after questioning a member of staff in Halfwits (ironic)..
His initial answer was "Sorry mate, were closing", shortly followed after a few quickfire questions about the harness, he told me "It didnt need one", so i asked him to double check, as i was *sure* it needed one... and after typing away, he concluded i needed a PC2454.
BUT Halfords being Halfwits, they didnt have one.
So anyway i went home to investigate..
According to UncleTonys (http://web.onetel.net.uk/~uncletony/in_car.htm) I presumed my Fiat had an ISO wiring loom already...
But.. According to a number of websites, it needs either a 2454 or a 4454. (I presume a 4454 is a 4 speaker version?)
So after alot of tinternet exploring i found this place.. http://caraudiosecurity.com/catalog/product_info.php+products_id+1587 . This seems ok, but then i noticed on the diagram on the right of the screen, its got a different layout to mine! So mine cant be ISO, because it doenst correspond with "Uncletonys".
My radio is as follows:
http://www.teambodgebikes.co.uk//fiat/current.jpg
Is this an ISO connector?
So my questions to you are:
I'm so confused!
PLEASE Help me! Im about to go out at 11 to buy my new headunit, and i am very confused about all this ISO stuff..
Note: Im actually very competent with electronics, my part time job is mending TVs and Monitors etc, but this has got me! evidently i know nothing about car stereos therefore im pleading with you for advice!
If none of the above makes no sense, please clarify the *useless* bit, because i need to know before tommorow...
In one sentence:
IS http://www.teambodgebikes.co.uk//fiat/current.jpg & http://www.teambodgebikes.co.uk//fiat/DSCF0062.jpg an ISO connector? That will connect to a standard ISO headunit?
Many many thanks in advance
Scott
*edit* Just to say, ive tried the Search facility, and absoutly thrashed google, but i cant find out a Definate answer..
*second edit* after a bit more google bashin, i think maybe, my guess is that my connector is ISO and that some of the weird shapes of two pins ive been seeing is the radio aerial connector?

So my questions to you are:
- Is my current harness an ISO loom that Will allow an ISO headunit to work?
- Is that "Uncletonys" diagram showing an ISO connector? Because if it is, it corresponds 100% with my current harness..
- and if not, can you Please show me an ISO connector, and advise on which one to get!?
