General The beast lives

It started a modification and rebuild programme nearly four years ago. Then the small matter of a heart attack reared its ugly head which kinda put things on hold for a bit.

I was building for use in the forests, still has to be road legal for that.

Since I can no longer compete (see note about heart attack) I have reduced the spec of the suspension a bit, but continued with the rest.

My daughter will compete in it when its complete, and it will be road legal.

Awesome...I wonder how long it will be till its blasting around forests again :)

Congrats!

I reckon we need a Dunc-like build thread :D

Go on, D, you know you want to (y)

This would be a sporadic update.

Another couple of hours work, and the fan works, the fuel gauge works, the temperature gauge works and I've tidied up a load of wiring and piping to try and get the GSR in. This may need a rethink as the remote filter and oil cooler are sitting where the filter wants to sit.

The bonnet is now bolted down too.

Still can't find where I've left the horn wiring. Going to look at my other car to try and sort that out.

Cheers

It was being done for open class tarmac rallying, but since I am no longer able to compete myself the car will be used by my daughter for club events. Its been more a case of seeing how we could develop the car for our own fun, rather than a specific class.

At this end of the country we don't have formula 1000 events, although the spec could change if we did.

Cheers

Shame you havent got time to post any pics, bet it will look awesome when finished :)

Puts my headgasket woes into perspective lol.
