the missis 99 seicento is slowly comming along :) Found a smashed up sei at the scrappy with rear opening windows so snapped em up. Only thing is i now need the 5 nuts that are embeded in the qtr posts. Anyone know the type of nut they are? I prized 1 out of the smashed up sei and they have a lip on them which holds them in, im guessing this lip is created when you tighten them up.?

ya help is much appreciated

yeah the climate control sux in the missis sei. are they all like that? even on cold the air comming through is damn hot :( atleast now it has somewhere to go :)

if the air is coming through hot all the time then i suspect you have a faulty cock *snigger*

its a valve that controls water flow to the heater matrix.

well mines kinda in the middle, the air isnt too cold but its not warm, but the amount of air coming in is awful its like being breathed on gently by a snowman in the desert! even when its turned on full blast!

It sounds daft but the recent hot weather could be a factor maybe as to why it isnt particularly hot. Theres not exactly much breeze about.

Also have you set the heater control to recirculate the air? i.e. bring air from outside into the car. Will look like this on your heater controls for this to occur.

The problem is no aircon

the air that comes in is basically a bit cooler than outside if you are lucky if you are stuck in traffic the chances are the air in the vents will be warmer than ambient as it sucks most of the air over the bonnet so you get the engine heat as well

so if it is 30 plus outside as it has been in the UK recently then the air comming in will be warm:mad:

Now the next question to our mainland european FF members is how do you fit aircon to a cinq?

my thinking was all non aircon cooling was the same. I thought my VTS non airconed cooling was poor, until i drove the missis sei :)

Im sure there is a way of doing it, the seicento suite was the only sei that had A/C as standard so i thought it would be possible to retro fit to a diffferent model of sei or cinq

Air con was standard in other countries like South Africa, as far as I rember reading in a review form SA.

It may be hard to get hold of it, but I shouldn't imagine it to be too difficult, just sourcing it would be the problem.

You have the button hole in the dash, there is holder for the maxi fuse etc. So it should be pretty much drop in.

The other option would be too mod your own aircon using peltiers (TEC's), a hot air exhaust from the cabin, and small rad on the cool side with a fan, and a lot of current. Not sure how well it would work though, prob not great else lots of maufacturers would use it. Be a lot less hassle for maintainance though, no gasses etc.
