Hi,
My Cinq Sporting was misfiring over 2 months ago, only running on 2 cylinders with Injector light on, got RAC guy to check it out and he said it was my HT leads and the LT wires that go into the coils (see HERE for a pic) he cleaned them up and it was fine, after that I just replaced the HT leads and spark-plugs and it ran fine, no probs at all...then today about 2 months on from when it first misfired it did it again :bang: Injector light at first kept coming on and off with the car juddering, so I pulled up and pulled out the two LT electrical leads that go into the coils cleaned them with WD40 and it was fine again, no problems at all.

Thing is I know it'll probably happen again so I just wanted to know if its just the dampness (peeing it down here all last night!!) and lack of lubrication or maybe the coils or wires need replacing?

Thanks,
Si

What I've also noticed is that one of the LT wiring plugs has a red bit on the end and on the actual socket in the coil where it fits into has a red bit, thing is the neutral plug is plugged into the socket with the red and the LT wire with the red is plugged into the neutral socket???

Is this right (can't see it being!) or should the red fit into the red socket??

Thanks,
Si

P.S. I'll take a pic if you can't understand my babble! lol

I half understand what your saying Si, the parts of the wire which have lost their insulation can simply be taped up with more tape.

Not too sure about the rest though.

Ignore the above! lol It's just me being dumb. I've added more insulation tape and cleaned up the LT wires and coil plugs, went dodgy again, pulled them out and cleaned again and it was fine  if anything it'll be a coil on the way out I think, I've read that your supposed to replace both coils, is this true?
