if im right, were all in band c. so we are down to..... £100 so a bit of a saving, smart cars down to 40.

On the DVLA website it says it's only for cars registered after 2001 anyway so that counts the Cinqs out.

not really, as i understand it the sei has a co2 output of 155, which means its now in band D at £125 when it used to be £110

Remember Blacksei your sei is an SPI sei and mine is an MPI sei so will have lower emission output as they changed the regulations which caused the SPI to fail and the MPI to come about in the sei

I've got a 2001 MPI Sporting, reg 12/07/01. V5 states 155 g/km.
Looking at 2001 brochure S/SX Sei is 143 g/km.
For me there is no change £125 before and £125 after.

Yours will be exactly the same as before. The new prices are only in force for cars registered after 1st March 2001.
