Help please. I'm new and rubbish at technical things.

The car is getting really hot and I think I've worked out that it's due to the fan not kicking in. What shall I di 1st to try and sort the problem, I'm skint so don't want to take it to garage unless I can help it.

Help please:)

Check 2 see if the fuse has blown, if so replace and c if it blows again, if it does get under the car and spin the fan with your hand does it spin freely? if not need a new 1 £50 odd from fiat and a couple of hours at most 2 fit :D hope this helps

try the following:
check the fuse, replace if needed.
on the radiator, right hand side near the bottom. Unplug the wire, and ground the grey one. The fan should kick in. If it does, then its your fan switch (£10). If not then jack the front offside of the car up. Chuck an axel stand under it. Unplug the the wires going into the fan, run a set of wires off the battery and into the fan.

if it doesnt spin.. reverse the wires.. if it still doesnt spin, its bust

Cinq Sporting - and yes, its broom yellow!

a bit mains flex will do

but try that last, ground the grey wire in the fan switch plug first (by ground i mean connect it to the -ve battery terminal, or the engine block will do!)
