Hi All,

I have recently hardwired my Garmin Dashcam 55 into my Fiat Sciencento Sporting useing piggy back fuse wires into the fuse box, i tapped into the Hazard lights & then the indicators, after testing the dashcam, it worked as it should, but i then noticed that the SRS light was permanantly on & would not go out after starting the car, incidently after disconecting the garmin wiring harness i found out that the SRS is also powered from the indicators, does anyone know what may of caused this & how i can get the light to go out?

Thanks in advance

Baz

hi Baz-

welcome along;

not sure what to say about this.

Did you wire from the indicators deliberately??

A classic, somewhat easier, spot for voltage-tapping is usually the faglighter. And you get the benefit of ignition switching, depending on the generation of car.

Airbag indication is usually caused by disconnection of a feed line to the airbag wiring from the control unit.

I'm afraid I don't know whether it will reset itself, or need to be reset on your car..

Hi,

Yes it was deliberate & the actual fuse for the SRS is actually next to the indicator fuse but when removing it it doesnt do anything, it doesnt look like its gonna clear on its own, so i guess i will have to either buy the gadget to reset it or take to a garage which ever is cheapest lol, thanks for the reply.....

HI All,

This is just an update, i went to my local MOT Centre to ask how much to check the SRS Light & was qouted £30 to check the fault & what ever it would cost to rectify it. i decided to look elsewhere, i found a small garage & he said £10 but would not charge if he couldnt reset it, he plugged in his machine & reset it in less than a few minutes, he also didnt want any money for doing this, i had to persuade to except £10 as it was a much better qoute than i had previously, so all good & hopefully my little Fiat have a few more years left on the road, thanks again for the replies that i recieved.....

Cheers
