Hi All.

While trying to sort out a battery drain issue i had the dash cluster out to test continuity and trace wires that don't seem to match the diagram. I did have the ignition on at times.
The car is an MPi sporting 2001with an OBD socket under the fusebox to RHS of the steering wheel.

I did fix the drain problem (turned out to be the radio) but i now have the airbag light on all the time -- you win some, you lose some I guess!! I'm thinking it was because i had the ignition on with the dash out - I once did something similar on another car (took steering wheel off to replace dash bulbs then turned on ignition to check bulbs working...) I really don't learn!

Assuming i didn't bend a pin on one of the multi plugs / pull a wire or something else stupid i'm thinking i just need to reset the system.

I have searched the forum and come across infomation that suggests the airbag system is separate inside the OBD so will it actually reset via this method??

If it will, can anyone advise a good OBD tool that will reset the light please?. I don't have one, don't mind buying one but the choice and prices on Amazon makes it a lucky dip.

Thanks in advance to anyone replying.

Never heard of multiECUscan before- thanks for that, it looks like the thing for all Fiat/Alfa.

I was thinking of one of the hand held readers but was worried that they don’t all read every code on different manufacturers or can only read, not reset. a Fiat specific reader sounds much better- just a bit p****d that I got myself into this!

I have an old VW Beetle as well - the diagnostic for that is a paper card specific to the spec of the car with holes punched that used to go into some crazy machine reader in a main dealer - 70’s tech!

I’m in the South East, nr J6 m25
