Hiya Cinqoids, after some advice or paying someone for their expertise to get it rocking...(I'm in York)

So my last sporting cinq had super sprint back box, GSR induction and McCritch chip. My current one has the same but plus super sprint 4-2-1 manifold and a tricker TB...but it's not as nippy as the old one?

Just wondered if I've not fitted the TB correctly and have an air leak or something, or if other adjustments such as timing etc are needed?

It just feels flat, noticeably slower than the last car....

Any thoughts appreciated! Cheers, D

yeah if everything seems ok i'd say check timing, they run ok when a tooth out but clearly are down on power.

Other than that, check condition of plugs, air filter etc. Maybe change the fuel filter as they are always overlooked, doubt its the issue but you never know.

an air leak will usually cause a high or irregular idle so i very much doubt this is your issue if you don't have that.

Oh, just had another thought, do you know for certain if the car has still got its original gearbox? Lots of boxes will fit but they nearly all have different ratios and final drives and that can make a pretty big difference in feel, particularly on such low power cars too.

Side note: Whereabouts in York are you? I lived there most of my life so know it pretty well. One of your friendly cento section mods, Eklipze3k lives in York also.

Hi there thanks for the reply and advice - the car was pretty much standard when I got it so I reckon 'box is certainly standard - idle speed is normal too...

That would be ace mate if you could have a butchers....cars not on the road currently so a road test would be tricky.....
