I have been looking at the Eibach Anti-Roll-Kit and it says it will stop horizontal body roll, which is what Im after. Will a strut brace (upper or upper and lower) stop this? I would prefer not to lower the car. Thanks,

Fred

Will an anti roll bar kit stop body roll and improove cornering?

Also, dont I already have an anti roll bar in my Cinq Sporting?

you do have a arb on it already, main way to stop rolling is lowering or stiffer springs (eibach do some -20mm stiffer springs) or the eibach arb, but the eibach arb does give your alot more understeer and as far as im aware has been discontinued for the cento. strut brace just makes it feel alot more solid round the corners, best bet to give better handling/less bodyroll would be lowering

Ok, cheers people. Even if I didnt lower my car would fitting a lower brace be any good? Would ground clearence be a problem?

since mines is lowered i wouldnt know but they sit low.my main point is as you are worried about bodyroll why are you not considering lowering and considering a lower strut brace?even more so if you dont have an upper?
strut brace helps to tighten the front from twisting through the power of the engine etc

Im deffinatly getting an upper strut brace but I wondered if a lower was a good investment. After reading the FAQ on lowering Cinq's it says that you need a couple of special tools to change the rear springs and shocks etc. So I was thinking around this problem to see if there was something I could fit and would give the same effect.

front lower brace on 50mm drop:

Blimey, thats low....

What is this special tool th FAQ talks of to change the front springs and shocks?

So if i fit a new anti roll bar will it be better than the original? Stiffer?

there are two types of uprated arb. im not 100% on all this so this is guesswork, but kinda right..

one of them takes the same route as the OE arb but is thicker (therefore nearer the floor) and there is another which takes a different route but is uselss on cars dropped more than around 20mm as it fouls part of the suspension.

special tools needed for fitting new springs are just spring compressors. they're not expensive to buy and most places will hire them out to you.

best way to reduce body roll on a cinq sporting is to lower it. i'd suggest you lower it and also get some better dampers/shocks whilst you are at it. it will transform the car.

custard your getting confused mate ARB and lower strut brace different things :p

ARB is just a straight replacement for standard and sits no lower, strut brace different story

sorry i was harking back to the origianl post

new lower arb would help but as ghost posted they have discontinued it so youwould be lucky to find one

Ok, thanks again.

Next question, after having a quick look into lowering kit prices. I cannot afford them, would I be able just to ride the harder springs? Would this give the same effect? Would there be a problem fitting new springs to old shocks?
