Hi,
I'm considering having my alloys re-sprayed in 'Anthracite', gonna ask around various places and see who's the cheapest (anyone know any decent ones in Manchester?).

Would it be easy and cheaper to do them myself? I've got the standard Seicento Sporting alloys on my Cinq.

Also is it easy for a 'amatuer' to have a go at painting calipers? I've been wanting to do it since I got my car, but feel it may be a bit over my head!!

Ta,
Si

Got mine powder coated cost £30 per wheel and have a great finish

I;m having mine reconditioned and anthracited for £45 a corner on Thursday. If your wheels are in good nick, he may charge you less though because he only charges a fiver extra for a different colour anyway. Really friendly bunch too.

With regards to the calipers, leave plenty of time to do it and use axle stands. Put the wheels back on too early and the paint drips, big problem. It is easy enough, use a small painting brush though otherwise you will make a mess and miss bits in corners.

heres a modded pic of what i want the wheels to look like:

i think i'll have a go at doing them myself, is it easy enough to get tyres off/on again? any tips? i've read a few guides on here about it, i'll just take my time and make sure i do a good job. i know its a daft question but who sells the 'Anthracite' spray paint colour, do halfords do it?

cheers,
si
