Is there a way to safely remove the front seatbelts without activating the pre-tensioners?James said theres a risk of losing your fingers, and although not the most important body part, it would screw my texing and also posting ability, ok..maybe thats a bonus

Ian, I doubt your car will have pre-tensioners. My yellow one didn't. The safe way is to disarm them by removing a screw. It's detailed in the Haynes/Porter manuals

Yeah my Sei had pretensioners and they were of a completely different style to that shown in Haynes or Porters. As i result they are still "live" and sat in a box in the garage.
I was just careful when taking them out.

I swapped the ones in my sporting for a black set neither ones had any sort of tensioner just normal self coiling seatbelts,My car is p reg by the way
