Anyone got a picture of how the ARB should be fitted on a seicento sporting.

I have been trying to get rid of the clunking sound on my sei. I suspect that the ARB might be fitted upside down. So far I've fitted:
  • New ARB bushes
  • New Rear engine mount
  • Powerflex front(and rear suspension bushes)
Most of the clunking has gone but I still get a fairly loud clunk over speed bunps at anything over 10mph.

Picture of the ARB fitted would help, but any other ideas welcome. I think its got me beat!!.

Regards
Michael

Hi,
The top bearing on the strut makes a nice hollow clunking sound when its broke, more so when going over speed bumps, but if your sure its comming from the bottom, the check out the lower suspension arm ball joint, it might have play in it..

Thanks

OK, So its not the ARB - Just removed it and it still makes the knocking. Is there any way of telling if its the upper strut bearing, without taking the strut out and removing the spring. I put the springs on in December and it all seemed OK at the time.

Jack it up so the wheel's off the ground, no need to remove wheel. With bonnet open, put your hand on the strut top nut and jiggle the roadwheel up and down. If there's any movement you should feel it.

Cheers pete, I have a go as soon as I get the ARB back on

Hi,
Just bouncing the strut top up and down made my duff bearing knock, with car on the floor.. :)

Thanks
