Did Cambelt today, have had head off to do head gasket so moved crank to clean crap off tops of pistons, anyway when I was doing the Cambelt I put a screwdriver in spark plug for cylinder 1 and cranked it slowly to the mark til the piston was up, with the top pulley on the mark, not started it yet cos battery is flat, but does that sound right

I know it's in the guides and did follow it but just want to check, check and triple check I have it right

It is on the correct marks but can it be 180 out if its on the marks? Do you know what I'm meant to be looking for on the flywheel, and what does it line up with? Can't see any marks on the bell housing?

Thank you

Think I've flooded it so going to leave it till tomorrow now

If it won't fire, by far the most likely cause is that you've not got the wee pip on the cam pulley in the wee hole in the alternator pulley. Hold the alternator pulley up to the light and you'll see a big hole in the middle, the three securing bolt holes, and a wee hole.

This is what you get when you don't buy or download the manual.

I do have a manual but not really clear and pics are ****, the book of lies

Yep that pip is in the hole, top cam pulley is on mark at 9 o'clock and crank is on the web at 10 o'clock?

Sorry to be a pain in the but

Yea that's how I have it, it's getting fuel, going to check spark tomorrow
