Hello all,

I have a '94 Cinq 899cc, which is beginning to annoy me quite a bit. The injector lamp has been on for a couple of months now and the car starts and runs fine. After the engine warms up there is a 50/50 chance that the car won't start, I know the fuel pump is working, cause I can hear it just before ignition for 2 secs, then the injector lamp turns off like normal, when I turn the key the starter keeps turning the engine but it won't start.

I have a feeling that there isn't enought power to start the engine, but I am not certain. I am suspecting it to be some electrical fault, any ideas? I don't want to spend a whole lot of money on the car, cause it's not worth that much, but I have become rather attached to the car, so all advice is appreciated.

Bye,

Katana :)

If there is enough power to turn the engine over at a reasonable speed then there is enough power for it to start.

There have been a lot of cases of crank sensors failing lately when warm, but if it is that the engine will cut out when the crank sensor reaches its failure temperature.

Hi,
I don't think the crank sensor will put the inj light on, I would check the vacum pipe leading to the map sensor, it may have a split in it or the map sensor may be bust....

Thanks

Will I be able to figure out where the MAP sensor is in the Hayes Manual?

I know it sounds silly, but just wanna be sure.

Thanks,

Katana
