In the next 2 or 3 months I should be in a position to do a small run.

They'll be steel, plated, with separate steel woodruff keys, to 1.4 16v pattern (so folks using them on older engines will need a later cam pulley, belt and water pump).

No solid idea of price yet -- depends on size of run, as setting up is a pretty much fixed cost -- but under a hundred quid.

I think a fair bit -- main issue with the original ones is that they're made from really poor material.

indeed had this a few times stripping engines down, its just the small key that breaks off tho

so surely if you had a replaceable steel wood ruff key it would be much better, as if would either snap the steel wood ruff key, blow the pulley to bits or rip the pulley to bits

admittedly there would some implications with machining the original pulley square to fit the key

2 more lil things id like to know before id put cash out is

What sort of weight increase would there be over the stock item.

also, would it be a separate key or a key build in like the original part? as if it is together it would bump the costs up a fair wack or be a slight bodge to get the shape in the pulleyas there isnt really a radius on the key mating face

hope munkul doesnt mine me using a pic of his
