All,

Do the rear springs have a top and a bottom to them?? The reason I ask is that there appears to be a slight difference to the spring ends?

Also the springs appeared to be colour coded, or doesn't this mean anything?

I've just painted the springs, removed the rust! As I was doing this I removed the black plastic sleeve from both springs and now I don't know which end I should refit it to?:bang:

Also... are Sporting springs much different to 'S' springs?? Will the car, (its all going onto an 'S') - will the car noticeably sit lower at the back end - or is it just that these springs are stiffer??

Sporting springs are 20mm shorter.

Best to put the tighly coiled end upwards, or you get water collecting which eventually rots out the spring pan. Just make sure they engage with the notches.

PS, does this mean that the Sei WILL look odd, front up, rear down - or won't it be noticeable??

It may look a bit wierd. I'd be more concerned as to what it'll do to the handling. If I'm doing it over a couple of days and need the car in the meantime, I do the fronts first.

rears are easier i'd say as you need spring clamps etc for fronts, you undo the rear struts remove spring/replace spring and i used a trolley jack to put the strut back up and replaced the bolts

Rears are easier (unless you snap a shock bolt!) but car looks better with more droop at the front, in the meantime........
