Any advice on mending my driver's door hinge?
When I open it, it drops, but it isn't the bolt in the centre of the hinge, it's the bit thats connected to the door that has somehow shrunk. A guy at the FIAT dealership told me that the hinge has a 'rolled peice of metal' holding it in place and over time it compresses itself and therefore becomes smaller than the space its sitting in - once again he said you cant buy a new one, you have to buy a complete hinge at £40 (why does everything from Fiat cost a minimum of £40?).

any had similar problems they've managed to sort out.

Hi,
New hinge pins will solve your problem, only about 50p each from Fiat... (y)

Thanks

Hi,
I think I got it mixed up with the door strap pin, I have changed a hinge pin but not on my cinq. ....too many cars to play with..
The hinge from Fiat is only £15.74, so I think the dealer is telling you porkies, but they are adjustable for position so you could try that first, maybe one of the hinges has come loose and slipped slightly....

Thanks

Ill take some pics and slap em on here tommorrow to point out where I mean. When I open the door, it makes a real nasty creaking sound like its about to snap - u can see where the pin moves. I know the bit ur on about, but it aint the pin in the middle of the hinge, its the pin that has a slit in the top connected to the door itself.
