Anyone give me any advice on how to remove ABS?

I am looking at buying a new Sei now that mine has been written off after being rear-ended in a que of traffic by a guy in a Rover 75 towing a caravan who crushed me into the car in front

Thing is that the car I'm looking at as a replacement has ABS & I was quite happy with the setup on my current car, am aware that the ABS can be a ballache, & I am planning to swap over my old parts including my UT fronts & PGT rears.

I am wondering how to disable the warning light for example?

Damn shame about your car, was a nice exapmle.

Removal has been discussed here before, but i can't recall what was said about it.

Can't be too tricky though.

Sure others will ahve more input.

Give it a go first though you may not hate it.

Got any pics of the new one?

Nothing much to it, just disconnect the hub sensors. To fully remove the ABS system iirc you need a new master cylinder (get a new one they're exactly expensive) & new brake lines leading from the master cylinder.

With all the sensors unplugged I seem to remember I had no dash warning light except for when you started the car.

Did someone achieve that work ?? Because the ABS take a lot of place (and suck imo)

Thanks

Im with you on removing your ABS, i hate it, but if you never get an opportunity to really push your car hard, and a pram appears out of nowhere in front of you, you are likely to be better off with it fitted.
I had a similar smash a few years ago when a car ran into the back of me when i was waiting stationary at red lights. I was amazed how many insurers refused to quote me the following year even though it was totally the other drivers fault. Hope you get back on the road in the car you want.

Yes maybe but i prefer a car without ABS than a car with the abs that works sometimes and doesn't the second after...

Wouldn't say having a abs is a bad thing I'm running pgt fronts and alfa 146 rear calipers just have to drill a hole in the caliper brackets to fit over the abs sensor and in all honesty I've never felt my abs ever kick in under hard braking I've had the front lock up a few times becuase of how light the sei is on the front
