Hey all,

New user here, on behalf of my girlfriend. She's got a Fiat Cento and is wondering about bigger wheels on it. Say 15", or even 17" if possible and it doesn't look weird (which I think it will!). Anyway, is it possble, and if so, what do you need to do it?

Cheers all

Would like to see the person that bought it on the forum!

IMO, anything more than 15"s look too much. And it's a lot of work!

So if she went for 15" say, then is there any other bits she'll needs? ie. bolts, spacers etc?

Most probably need spacers, it depends what offset the 15's are, it could be anything from 3mm - 10mm it really depends on what she wants and what offset they are.

Bolts, with spacers u would need longer bolts but this isnt such a big deal, they are easy to pick up and cheap.

I would roll the arches because they may catch and damage the tyres, arch rolling can be done for bout £20 a piece, so not that expensive and saves on new tyres and risking a blowout

Hi ya..
I had 14s, 15s and 17s on my cinq.. the car was lowered 30mm..

14s.. with 185/50 tyres,, no problems with arches or turning circle.

15s.. with 195/45 tyres.. had to have rear arches rolled to stop them scrubbing.. cost 90 pounds for both at R-Tec. Couldnt quite get full lock when turning, but not a problem.

17s.. had to have severe arch work done, xtreme in Harlow did this. Cost 200 pounds. had to have rear bumper removed and skirts removed and reshaped before they would fit back on.The tyres did not scrub with just me in the car, but scrubbed with a passenger. I didnt use the rear seats for passengers after 17s were fitted otherwise i think it wouldve done severe damage. didnt like shopping in boot much either as it scrubbed then too!! not v practical but good fun. Although it scrubbed, and made a horrible noise the tyres didnt actually have any visible damage.

Again, couldnt quite get full lock. Other probs include very heavy steering.. didnt realise quite how heavy til i go new car with pas.

I think wheel size depends on the kit you have one the car to fill it.. its no good having 17s with a shallow kit..

15s are fine on std arches as long as they're 5.5" wide and on 165/45 tyres (the only manufacturer who sells these is continental).
Try mytyres.co.uk as these r the cheapest i've found

That's another fine mess i've gotten me into!
