Any ideas on the best thing to get off sun-baked kamakaze flies? my bonnet is a graveyard for squashies, and the sun sort of cremates them semi-permanantly onto the front

Then, once I've released the lil buggers from my paint, whats the best protection to aid future quicker removal?

Cheers

Give it a good wash.

And then buy yourself some clay. Should get rid of it fairly easy i bought some due to my car being parked close to a tree the sap gets into my paintwork got rid of it all after it had been caked on for weeks.

Then give it a couple coats of wax to help protect the paintwork.

i wash her every weekend...i've heard polishing too much is a waste too?

i park under a tree at work and suffer with sap and bird bombs too..

My poor paintwork :(

And Clay? please expand on that?

Well i bought the meguirs clay thing as was advised to get it due to my car being parked under a tree most of the time and it gets filthy so its washed once a week at least now.

But the megs kit your get the quick detailer spray which you spray onto the section of the car your gonna clay and it acts like a lubricant you then get the bar of clay and just rub it over the paintwork really easy to do and doesnt take long when the clay gets dirty just remould it to another clean piece and keep doing it wipe the detailer off after with a suitable cloth and then run your finger over the paintwork. It should feel absolutely smooth. If not repeat the above until it is.

They do a money back guarantee on the stuff so if your not happy its no problem. but i was rather impressed my paintwork even after washing polishing etc always had little bumps i could feel they dissapeared after i clayed it.

I must admit i dont suffer with squashed bugs that much but ive always managed to get by with just washing the car with a bug sponge (one with the netting over them, not the abrasive sided sponges) and then a good polish, works a treat for me.

Saying that i do clean my car most days so they dont get a chance to get baked on!
