Dearest Blister picked up a 500 on the weekend anyhow it only has 7500 miles on it but think it must have been used for grass tracking looking under it.....

*full polish still to be done it rained all weekend here :(

Any how first task is to prep the underside for the tonnes of road salt to be dropped on the roads in the next few months and the wet.......

so without further a do i donned my waterproofs dragged the Pressure washer out along with a pump up wand sprayer and Bilt hamber Surfex mixed at about 1:4 with water (weaker mix wouldnt touch it)

In areas i jacked the car up in the correct place and placed an axle stand where i could just in case.....

This is to be under-sealed and cavity waxed at some point when it all dries out

I have a similar lance attachment for my Karcher. It was originally from a Kew but when that packed up I bought an adaptor from ebay so that it wouldn't be redundant. Because of the fan spray the pressure is minimal in any one place and from a foot back the width of the spray is 18" or so which makes it ideal for all the underbody cleaning.

The bonus also is the fact that you can use it afterwards as a water brush to easily clean up the mess left on the drive as the low pressure pushes the muck along the drive whereas a normal lance would spread it all over the walls.

Anyhow onwards an upwards Im waiting for the weekend to underseal (its supposed to be warm and dry) and since the dark nights are closing im stuck for daylight...

so tonight i did manage to do this little lot....

gave the car a quick wash and rinse and dry........

then broke out the Iron-X (read the on-line instructions and cautions before use this isn't exactly the buy off the shelf at Halfords consumer grade stuff and has a fair list of user cautions...)

(this product is intended to remove Iron fall out ( seen many posts on the White 500's covered in orange spots and this was no different)

no befores as my camera wouldn't focus in close enough... but the iron-x says it all...

It turns pink/ purple on contact with Iron particles (i applied by spray bottle wearing gloves and eye protection its fair to say the stuff stinks (think butchers shop on a hot day and you might be close)

left to work for a good 15 mins occasionally adgetating the surface lightly with a cheap wash-mitt

Before pressure washing very thoroughly to remove all residue and the now loosened Iron particles from the paint......

(not done the tar removal yet as was only doing the Bonnet roof and boot tonight)

So car re washed and left wet.......

and out with the clay bar

Using my Makita a Yellow (polishing) 3m foam pad and 3M backing plate

found Menzerna Final Finish Polish - P0 85 RD was doing the trick and got cracking......

Then gave everything a wipe over with UPOL slow Panel prep and buffed off with a clean microfiber cloth replacing it regularly to remove any polishing oils leaving me with virgin clean paint.....

I have been recommended to try this as a sealant

so sprayed a little on spread out and buffed straight off....
