Karcher Pressure Washer Foam Lance (Halfords £16.99) Vs Elite Foam Lance (Elite Care Care £44.49)

I've devised a little test to see how these 2 foam guns perform against each other. In each test I will use my Karcher K3.99, the car will be my GP - pre wet. Foam will be Elite Snow Foam at approx 5% dilution with luke warm water. Photos of spraying and after 5 minutes left to dwell.

I had planned to test both today but Elite haven't got round to dispatching my order yet so here's part 1 - the basic Karcher lance...

As you can see it does look like proper snow foam though it is not very thick. Picture 2 was taken after 5 minutes - most of the foam has run off but has shifted a fair amount of winter road crap :)

Maybe if you reduce the dilution then you might get a heavier foam which won't run off the car so fast therefore having more time to do its job! Just a thought (y)

I think the point is the diluation ratio will be the same, otherwise it's not a fair test. Not that it's fair anyway given than the paintwork won't be in the same state in either test.

personally i bought the CNC one have had great fun ever since lol although i like to make sure my car is caked in it so always go a little above the dilution factor (mainly to stop it freezing in the cold snap we've been having) esp after my dads wheel on his car froze solid on it lol and ended resorting to a hammer to clack the drum lol

Just to clarify a few points:
1. 5% is within the recommended range for the foam I'm using, less water may produce more foam but I'm going by the guide on the bottle.
2. Yes the car won't be exactly as dirty but I'm not testing cleaning power - its the foam that's produced that's being tested.

Elite have dispatched my order so hopefully I'll be in when the delivery guy comes tomorrow. Should have test 2 up by Friday.

very nice lol :) i vary it from summer to winter though as i dont want it to freeze on the car lol and tbh i do it simply by guessing (within a reasonable degree ofc) lol

Valet Pro PH neutral snow foam...just to stick a spanner in the works....god andy u might has well be a sales man for bilt hammer....

It's gonna be next week at the earliest for the update. I went to pick the order up from the courier today and unfortunately its been damaged :( The box was soaking (presumably the snow foam has leaked) and the guy behind the desk suggested I refuse it. This would be the week Elite are closing for work on their premises so looks like it will be next week before any replacement arrives :(

Its the slightly cheaper one: http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/elite-foam-lance-6-types-of-fitment-and-free-1lt-snow-foam.php

I've read elsewhere that sometimes the HD one needs a little persuading to connect to the karcher gun as the connection is not always a perfect fit. This one looks very similar, but with a plastic connector and the dial is in a slightly different place for adjusting the mix ratio.

some suppliers are now shipping it with a plastic karcher attachment although i have a stihl which takes a bosch fitting (y)
