Hi everyone,
I have a 2.0 multijet Bravo, I've had her for around 5 years now. Last year she nearly failed emmisions as was regenerating during! They stopped the MOT leaving her running and I drove her hot for a while. She still puffed out a little soot/ smoke but nothing worrying. Obviously this year has me concerned with the 'no viable smoke'.
Anyone had an MOT yet and have any info?

Thanks in advance

I have the same engine. I'm sure we will be fine providing the cars are standard. I'm sure they can't bring in new rules which a 2012 car illegal. That would be highly unfair.

One thing you can try to get better emmisions is to change oil and air filter just before the test.

The new rules are checking that the car meets the emissions it was required to meet when first used or was designed to meet when made.

The test for smoke visible smoke should not be applied when the car is regenerating but there is a small chance some MOT testers may not apply this correctly. The test is to detect a deleted DPF, if the DPF is intcr so should have no problem. The media and internet is full of disinformation that imples the visible smoke test applies to all diesel engined cars, it does not.

Thanks for the responses! I'll take her for a blast when I get it booked in & clear out the cobwebs!

Nice to hear some informed responses as the media have really attacked the diesels recently! I still enjoy her after 5 years though & just needed some reassurance! :)

Cheers,
Dave
