My Bravo is up to 64,000 miles now. I have started to hear a slight noise from the gearbox in 5th & 6th. Truthfully its very faint, but I have an ear for these sort of noises. It is only there when the box is hot, so after a longer trip.
I am going to change the oil to see if that helps. Truthfully I should have done it long before now...
My question is about the fill/drain/level plugs. My eLearn CD says to drain via the drain plug in the diff casing (fair enough) but fill via a plug at the top of the box with 1.58 litres of oil. It says not to remove the plug on the front of the gearbox casing at all.
My thoughts are that said plug will be a level plug, so surely it needs removing to tell the level? Has anyone changed their gearbox oil who could confirm?
