I purchased my 2008 Bravo 1.9 M-Jet 150T back in February 2009. At the time I owned a Renault Megane 1.9 120 Dynamic sports hatch. The purchase was typical of me, saw the car and just loved the look especially with the 18" alloys. I took a very basic test drive and immediately handed over a very upset Megane and a pile of the 'folding stuff'.

However once I started to have a play with the car I was no longer smiling the performance being most disappointing. It handled like a 'barge' when you tried to go round a corner at anything over the national speed limit and the pick up from the engine was very poor. The Megane would have run rings round it. Talk about style over substance. (n)

So what to do, after some thoughts of trading in for an Alfa GT I decide to try and see if I could improve the car by spending £500 - £600. I joined the Fiat forum and read loads of posts and web articles before ordering up the following parts:

TMC Value box, Eibach Pro-kit springs & Ragazzon sports exhaust.

So I've placed the orders and am sitting backing waiting for the postman to knock. Mind you in the current climate I might be in for a bit of a wait.:eek:

I will fit the parts one at a time and let you know how I get on. (y)

Is you in the right gear? :D because my 6th gear from 60mph pulls all the way to 135mph. Handling wise its not a ford focus neither is it a french leaning tower:D
You simply cannot compare a french diesel engine to a italian diesel, i bet the bravo 1.9 120bhp will be quicker that that megane 120bhp.

The mjet 150 is a great engine and near enough all of them run close to 160 brake anyway so thats 10bhp more than quoted from factory, the bravo would run rings around the megane120 , so there must be something up with yours or your not driving it propery lol:devil:

I can only comment on my experience of the two cars, from a handling point of view there was no contest, the Megane wins hands down. From an engine perspective yes, the Bravo 150 is more powerful but the low down delivery is poor.

Re: TMC box dyno results @ Red dot racing

Firstly I would like to thank Daron (TMC) for his service, excellent support and quick turn around of my order and also a big shout for the dyno guys at Red dot racing who were extremely friendly and helpful.

So with the car installed on the rolling road Paolo started the first run. Once complete he took one look at the dyno results and asked if the car had previously been mapped as it had recorded 169.9 Hp and 265.3 ft-lb torque :eek:

I mentioned that the car was an ex-demo model and Paolo said that some launch / demo cars can be tweaked to ensure they gave the best possible impression when on test. But we decided this was unlikely and I just had a very good one

We then fitted the TMC box which took all of 5 minutes, nice one Daron and fired her up for the second run and the results

199.4 Hp and 313.7 ft-lb of torque :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Paolo was very impressed with the results, I was frankly amazed, what a result for an investment of £115.00P. First impressions of the car are very promising, the complaint I had about the low down delivery has been solved as the car now takes off like scolded cat.

Final step for me is seeing what impact the modification has on the fuel economy but all things being considered I'm really impressed. Just need to get a T200 badge made up :slayer:

Well after a weekend of blasting around Herfordshire :D I filled up on Sunday afternoon and did my normal run into work this week. M1 and round the A406 to Hanger lane. Still had a few good blasts when the mood took me and I'm amazed to see a 10% improvement in my fuel consumption. So I'm really please and highly recommend this upgrade (y)
