Hi

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to remove the A pillar trim (the one that goes up each side of the front screen) if an air bag is fitted.

The reason i ask is that where the headlining trim and the a pillar trim meets it is very tatty and i want to make it neater but to do this i have to take the trim out or unclip it.

If i unclip it will the airbag explode in my face?

Please help

Thanks

M

Ours is exactly the same, looks like they havent bothered to finish it off properly. Not sure about the answer to your question maybe try a call to the dealer?

Can you post a photo of what it looks like? I've just had a look at mine, and I cant see anything to complain about.

The A-pillar trim overlaps the roof lining, and is neatly finished. The roof lining itself seems to be a hard plastic moulding with a fabric stuck over it, or else just a moulding with a patterned finish. Presumably, the roof lining would have any excess material at the edges trimmed off with a sharp knife. If thats been badly done, I really wonder what you can do about it.

M,

Sorry just responded to your PM - thought you were on about a Stilo!

Same process as per steps 1 and 2 in the PM - just DON'T TRY and remove it, been there done it, I ended up having to remove half the dash to refit, SERIOUSLY not worth it (they are fitted before the dash goes in, and as they carry an airvent, have to be secured to the bulk head - fecking nightmare!!).
