OK, finally got round to revitalising the '96 P Brava that has been sat on the drive for two years. All is great other than the usual wiper/rear heater issue (thanks to all on prev threads for helping me get that sorted!)

One thing that is driving me crazy is the front wipers. I know this is a fairly common issue in itself but i cannot find anything on the prev threads to sort it.

Front wipers are intermittant - either they work on all setting or not at all. Fuse, relay and motor all seem to fine. I suspect it is the earth point getting wet as it only seems to happen after it has been raining for a while.

Does anyone know where the damn earth point is for this as i cannot find it at all - does it also act as an earth for anything else?

it is bound to be a shared earthing point. have you tried using wd40 on the wiper motor connector plug? also try flicking the wiper stalk when it wont work.

Yeah, took the wipers, weather strip etc off and had a good poke around at the motor. All seems dry on contacts etc although i havnt tried flicking the stalk. I usually just push it up and down as fast as i can in a pedantic fit.

the stalk is known to have problems, especially on the earlier cars. scrapyard stalks will be £10, maybe worth a try?

Will try looking at it this evening and let you know tomorrow. Althoug the Arsenal are on tellybox so might have to cut short the fettling.
