I'm having big problems with the oil circulation in my 1998 1.4 Brava. Within the last year i've had to change the spray bar twice after hearing a heart stopping screach from the engine. This time after fitting a new part, it turned over again, minus the sound but after 20 miles of motorway driving the noise was back. Took the head of again and the cam was bone dry. Blew through the spray bar, fitted it again and turned it over. Ran fine until the engine heated up then started to hear the squeal again. Turned the engine over minus the bar and there is plenty oil coming up through the block. Any ideas???

sure its not your oil pump pressure being to low to pump it through the bar?

Tried turning it over while the spray bar and the head where off, the oil jetted out. I don't know what pressure it should come out at, but it was enough to cover my mate and half the garage We thought it might be the pump though. We couldn't work out how it only started drying up once the engine had been running for a while?

Check oil return & breather pipe for blockages. Could be a build up of back pressure. Is the oil clean?

I'll give that a try and see what happens, cheers. The oil's still good, only been in 3 months. Isn't oil meant to be dirty I've got to laugh or i'd greet!!!
