Just lately my bravo seems to be intermittently running too high on the temp gauge, used to always be just on the line about half way up wheras now it is nearer to and sometimes on the next dot above the line and even though the temp gets past the point where the fan used to come on the fan doesn't come on. Also it seems to be more of a problem on longer journeys for example i can do my 7 mile journey to work and it be fine but when i do my 20 mile return journey to pick up my other half from work the temp goes higher.

The thermostat was replaced a few months ago so i would hope that is okay

There is enough coolant in the bottle

Oil doesnt look creamy so i wouldn't think it is the head gasket (seriously hope not!!)

Have you tried thumping the dial unit? Mine used to do that (now it just shows hot all the time ) and it was just the unit, a thump would put it back into place.

yes, tried banging on part of dash just above gauge and temp needle fluctuates a bit whilst i'm doing it but returns to its original position when i stop

The fan never comes on???

Tried or tested temp sensor yet.....or have you got it sorted?

Not sorted yet.....think i'm just gonna book it in at the garage is due a service anyway

I fear the worst is that its a new dash swap out, which then probably resets the milage on the car, not exactly ideal, unless your into clocking cars
