hi, just wondering if anyone could help me, i was forced to replace the engine in my 2000 1.2 bravo last week and no matter how much i try the car wont start, the plugs arent sparking or getting wet, if anyone has any ideas on how to fix it feel free to reply thanks :)

may be an obvious question but is everything connected?

First thing I would check in this sinario is the crank position sensor, make sure its connected, emitting a signal, clean and in the correct pisition. Without a crank position signal no fuel or ignition will operate because the ecu doesn't know where TDC is.

thanks for the reply, everything is c onnected properly, and just got a new crank sensor, still no joy :( any other ideas?

did you test the crank sensor before replacing it?

you say its a 2000 right? is you throttle cable operated (182 engine) or electronic (188 engine)? i'm not sure on this but if its the 188 i think i read somewhere that this engine has a camshaft position sensor? if the answer is yes then the same applies here as it did with the crank sensor, but test it before replacing if you have the knowladge to do this, if theres nothing wrong with it there no point replacing it so save the money (y)

You need to be sure that the engine is actually enabled, i.e. the orange "key" symbol on the dash goes out.

I had something similar a few years ago when I did the same swap to the same car... in my case the fuel was not getting through and I left it with a Fiat specialist with diagnostics etc. He found a bad wire on on of the ECU multiplug connectors, fixed that and everything was fine.

Assuming you got the correct (i.e. later) engine for the car, it sounds like something fundamental (and maybe simple) isn't right and you may need experienced assistance to track it down.
