(1st let me say, I have had some fantastic help and support by good people on this forum, and not to sound to cheesy its quite inspiring lol.......:worship:
and even thou I a man of modest means, I made a small donation as a sign of appreciation !)


I wanted to know where this red hose from the turbo wastegate should go !
Its been hanging off since I picked the car up, it would be a miracle if that was the problem of there not being any boost ! But i doubt it, plus I now have other problems anyway.....

Im sure theres plenty of you who can tell me where that hose should go. Out of interest is that little black box thingy, the solenoid ??? for actuating the turbo ?

Ive been browsing the service Manuel, but cant find owt !

It should go out from the wastegate to a solenoid then from the other end of the solenoid back to the turbo outlet casing.

Not to sound like a complete noob ( but i am in many ways )
wheres the turbo outlet casing ? wouldnt be that little thing coming off that big turbo pipe in the second picture would it ????

well you found the wastegate already and its vertualy bolted to it.
Look at your turbo you have an exhaust side (rusty colour) and an inlet/outlet side (aluminium in colour) the big pipe in the centre goes to the air filter and the outlet goes to the intercooler.

This picture should give you some idea IF its the same setup as yours.

Im starting to get the idea, I think lol :idea:
But if you see my second picture, there is a small pipe connector coming of that turbo pipe, but if what your saying is right, me thinks thats the inlet pipe ??? But Im not sure. I need to go look again really, I cant see anywhere else for it to go !

If i get 5mins i will look at mine.

I have been given some, and looked through the service manuals, but maybe its just me.....lol

I know there's not to many places it can go, I dont normally have a problem finding a hole to stick my hose in

Theres also a good possibility someones already been messing about down there and done some modifying.

Not sure if this helps. I have two red pipes one below and above the turbo to intercooler pipe. At least one that I can see goes to the overboost valve at the rear of the engine. The seem to both attach to the turbo.

I was meant to say I have two red pipes below and above the pipe from the air box going centrally into the middle of the turbo. Your pipe seems to have come off above the turbo to intercooler pipe by the turbo.

Really appreciate you taking the time to take a pic and put it up. I need to acquaint myself better with part names. And I could of taken better pictures and being a bit more descriptive meself.

I assume the large hose/pipe that is poorly illustrated in my second pic is the intercooler pipe ! that has a small valve thingy for a hose to go on ?

No thats the air feed from the air box. I will take a look and see whats connected to that but its definately not one of the red pipes.

The turbo to intercooler pipe is the one right at the bottom of our pictures, usually greasy or v dirty. Get under your car for a better look, as you can't see looking from above. Might be worth removing the the turbo to intercooler pipe. Its an L shaped pipe going from your turbo to a small radiator on the passenger side behind the bumper.

Im waiting for some axle stands to be delivered, so I can get on with a few things, got no tools where I am.

heres a good, from underneath, showing the red hose coming from the solenoid. looks like it been butchered, its joining from the two pipes from turbo, then t's off an theres a clear pipe, cant see where thats going yet ?

Does it have an aftermarket boost gauge fitted.???
