Hi - I am a new member and, to be honest, a complete novice with cars.
I bought a T reg Brava to get me back and forth to the airport which has sat for 3 weeks in Edinburgh until I picked it up last night.
When I set off the injection warning light came on(which it has done before but then gone out) and the car appeared to have no power in any of the gears. It would move at about 20 miles an hour but there was no acceleration.
The AA picked me up and took the car home - when I called them for a home start this morning the guy was clueless. He has said the car is only running on 2 cylinders and this has made me think it might the ECU (only after reading some of the posts on this forum). The car is not worth much and is only really needed until Nov of this year. Is it worth taking it to be looked at? Is there anything my other half could do to establish if there is a quick and easy fix?
I know this is a really vague question but I am no expert.
Thanks so much for any advice:)

Brava SX 100 16V is what is in the book. The guy from the AA said the only 2 of the cylinders were firing - 1 and 4 (2 and 3 were okay).

Sorry to be so vague but I am totally hopeless with cars.

It's possibly the ignition pack. The bit that the leads from the spark plugs go to. I can't say about your car but on my old brava it was a piece of cheese to change.

Disconnect the neutral on the battery (-)
remove the connectors on the front of the ignition pack(they can only go on one way)
remove the 3 screws on the top of the ignition pack.
Remove ignition pack.
Fit new one(£25 from scrap yard)
fit the 3 screws again
re attach connector
re attach battery
keep fingers crossed.

Hope that helps.

You are awesome - to even having this as something to start on will make life so much easier. I am going to get the other half to give it a go (I know I should do it myself but, honestly, I'd electrocute myself or something) and I will let you know. Thanks so much for your time.
