Hi again guys!


I've got a few queries about my 1.2 SX again and was wondering if you guys might be able to help:

• Wheel Trims - I've lost one of my wheel trims, and after weeks of looking on ebay, I am still yet to find any fiat ones that I can replace it with. See the pic at the end of this post to show you which ones I have. If anyone has any lying about of the same style, or a set of others that would suit it, and would like to let them go for a small fee, then I would appreciate it!
• Squeeking Noise - Over the last few weeks, my car has developed a squeeking noise, which has progressively got louder, and, started a lot sooner after starting the car. It appears to be coming from the Driver's side of the Engine, and from quick inspection by a mate, he reckons its the belt on the power steering pump. Does anyone have any suggestions that may differ or would my mate be right?
• Air Filter box - I think I may have posted about this before. Sorry If I have. A friendly local garage managed to break mine, and I'm refusing to pay the £100+ cost from my local fiat dealership for a replacement. I have checked the local scrapyards frequently but dont ever seem to be able to find one. If anyone has one or knows where I could get hold of one from then I would again, very much appreciate it!

Sorry for the length of this post but I thought it best to ask all of the questions in one go.

Wheel Trims - if you can't find exact ones, buy a set of 4 different ones. You do realise the ones you have are for the Brava and not Bravo so search fiat brava wheel trims on ebay. I did see a guy on ebay selling two steel rims with those exact wheel trims but it seems the auction has ended as i can't find it.

If you dont mind paying for a new one, shop4parts.co.uk sell them for £14.16+VAT. Look under Fiat Brava/Wheel Trims.

Squeeking Noise - is the noise a squeeking or squeeling noise??? If its a squeeling it probably is more than likely a loose auxilary belt. If its squeeking then let us know when? I.e over bumps, round corners etc. May have something to do with the suspension.

Air Filter box - if you ring shop4parts.co.uk they maybe able to order you one in but it wont be mega cheap but cheaper than at Fiat. These are rare to find on ebay so check for Bravo/a and Mareas being Broken for spares. Bear in mind the 1.4 airbox is different. The rest i believe will fit.

I didnt realise that they were Brava Trims. I bought them of ebay when I first had the car, and they said they were for the Bravo so hadn't a clue!

It's more like a squeeling, and its constant on idle, increasing slightly in volume as the revs raise. Its not a loud squeeling, just irritating. The lad who looked at it earlier said that it looked like the power steering belt was moving slightly from side to side. It did have a new power steering pump about 12 months ago. I would hope the belt was changed when that was done. As its been doing it for a while now, will i need to replace the belt? I assume that it would be cheap to do so and worthwhile just in case?

As for the Air Filter box, I will try Shop4Parts, if I am still having no luck with scrappies soon. Its not rattling, even though its only held on by one mounting, the car just needs a new air filter...

Hi Guys Im New to this i have a 1.2 fiat brava 80sx and the engine has a mind of its own it keeps revving by itself it should tick over at about 750 - 800 rpm but its ticking over at 1700 rpm on a cold start and as the engine gets warmer its revs higher until its stops at around 4000 - 5000 rpm can anyone help??

Could be an air leak in the air intake. Check the pipes for rips, damage etc.

Could be the ICV.

I may be able to get my hands on one for a small fee, but it could be the end of next week if thats any good! I'll keep you informed!

Oh yeah you did The 1.6 has the same airbox so that helps widen your search. Try ebay or local scrapyards armed with the extra info.

Thats correct however you can fit any airbox from a Bravo/a or Marea petrol or diesel as long as its not from a 1.4. The airboxes all take the same air filter.
