Hello all !

Okay bought my wife a fiat brava 1400 in january and everything was hunky dory. For the past 4 months she is having problems starting the car when the engine is warm. The RED injector light turns on when turning the ignition on (also you can hear the fuel pump humming) but if this stays on the car will not start. If the light goes out there is no problem, so she has to sit in the car for 10 , 20 , 30 minutes constantly trying to start the car. This is a real pain as she is a District Nurse. The car does eventually start, however I have noticed a juddering when trying to accelerate in third gear. I thought blocked injectors and have treated the fuel system but the problem still plauges her ( and her me !!) . Have spoken to a fiat garage about this but they havent really been very usefull. does anybody know what the problem is ??? Also have booked the car in for a service which is £140.00 sounds expensive to me , anybody else think so ??

Hi and welcome to the forum. :)

Warm starting problems are usually caused by a rich mixture. I would look at lambda and temp sensors first. If the injection light is coming on then it should be logging faults in the ECU.

Good luck, let us know how you get on. What service are you booked in for?
