I did do some searching through the forums but couldnt find anything regarding the brava EXL.

I have recently bought and repaired a salvage Brava 1.6 ELX P reg (1997). It came with the red master key and a blue 'normal' key. The blue key has the button on it for the remote central locking. Battery was dead when received. The remote central locking does not work but the battery in the fob is ok.

Is there a reset procedure to resync the fob and receiver..? No manuals in the car either! On my old mondeo you had to do crazy things like insert the key then stand outside then click all the buttons then click one then twist about then reinsert key etc etc =)

Any help greatly appreciated.

PS the immbolisier/alarm etc is fine the car will run ok just wont unlock/lock remotely.

Had another look round; am I correct in thinking that the Brava ELX doesnt have remote central locking and all the button on the blue key does is set the alarm..?

Dont think it does..looked it up on wiseguys car reviews and their spec only included centrla locking not remote central locking...thats a shame on a car of that electric pack level. Oh well.

I have an R Reg 1.8ELX, and it has remote central locking and alarm. No idea of how to reset it though.

I guess it may be different on the R reg..year younger and all that. Was it maybe an after factory ad-on..?

Anyone else have any ideas..?

How do I check the alarm/mobiliser/remote locking etc..? Is there a testing sequence.

apparently standard fitment on the R Reg ELX. But as you say, it may be that yours is a younger model.

There was a revision in 99 I think or maybe 98 called the A revision. slightly more BHP and some tunes I think and that 1.8elx model is listed as having remote central locking.
