Forgive me if this has been discussed before - I'm a forum virgin!
I recently aquired a 1996 Brava.
Firstly it had no stereo, so I pinched the old one out of a Rover, but I'm struggling with connections - The stereo needs 5 connections - Permanent live, 2x Swiched lives, Earth and Lights.
Having tested the ones already there the switched live looks very thin - 0.75mm2 ish - But there is a 2.5mm2 connector off the radio, as well as another 1.0mm2. Am I taking a risk by using this for both?
Also what about the speaker connections - Does anyone know which ones are paired together?
Finally my rear wash wipe isn't working - when I got it the switch on the boot strike plate was badly burnt out. I replaced it and now I seem to have 12v on the 2 outer connections and the centre is earthed. I got a new motor from the scrapyard, but it still doesn't work - have they sold me a duff, or is there some way of testing the motor off the car - I thought about using a battery charger - if so how do I connect the three pins on the motor connector?
Thanks in advance.
Stuart!
