Finaly doing something about my door sills. I decided to just remove the 'C' shaped hard rubber seal along the bottom of both doors. As it was just getting grit stuck in and pitting the sills badly. The main door seal stops water getting in the car anyway.

Sanded the surface rust off and used redoxide primer this time.

I am just going to use a can of spray that is similar to my colour without putting laquer on.

I just want to get a stright tidy edge that is almost the same colour as my car, most of it will be covered by these lockwood stainless steel kick plates.

Be careful if just using an automotive type rattle tin paint. Lacquer is the protection coat and will prevent the surface being rubbed away as the base coat is not usually very tough.

You could always have done them in a hammerite satin black.

Re: My Bravo 1.4SX (New Front Wing)

While my mirror pods are of the car I cleaned them with Autoglym Bumper care and buffed the excess off with a lint free cloth

Also used glass polish on the mirror.

Looks good, I'll be picking up some of that for when I paint the bases.

Do you know the rubber seal im on about? whats yours like. Mine was full of grit and nothing would get it out. It was like closing my door with sand paper stuck on the inside.

Hey dan, I put that stuff on with a small square of sponge and buff it off with a lint free cloth. The reason I buff it off is it stops it running in the rain and the finnish lasts longer plus stops it being sticky. Its also good for making your seatbelt red buttons as new, well any coloured plastic.

Sounds like a good idea, my dad puts that type of stuff on the back of his Frontera and it runs and leaves horrible streaks. :yuck:
