does any one know how much it is to have this part replaced think i have a fault ? does it need to be replaced ,can someone help>?

Some recon ones on ebay about £45, or if you can find the correct one in a scrap yard appx £20. Why what do you think is wrong with yours?

thx for that info v helpfull, not sure if mine needs to b replaced but the revs stay high wen i start the car then they dont drop between gear changes,an erratic idling, ive bin told its the tps

Have a read of the forums, it may just require a clean and reset, v easy to do yourself even if not mechanicaly minded, v common fault. Good luck

thx 4 that, can u tell me how to do that i think i could do it myself rather than pay some one ...

Things you will need, carburettor cleaner, rags, and a screwdriver, the tps is located on the throttle body, which is easy to find as it's also where your throttle cable ends. If you remove the pipe that goes from the airfilter housing (airbox) to the throttle body, usualy has jubilee clips at each end hence the screwdriver, you can see inside the throttle body, inside there is a circular flap which opens when you accelerate, you need to clean all the gunk out of this area, including opening the flap and cleaning as much as you can behind the flap too. Once you have cleaned this area put it all back together again.
To reset the tps you have to disconnect the battery for appx 1 hour, make sure you have your radio code or it may cost you to get it decoded. After an hour, reconnect the battery, then this is the important bit, switch the ignition on, DO NOT START THE CAR YET, and leave the ignition on for 90 seconds, then turn the ignition off and wait for 90 seconds, finally start the car, do not touch the accelerator, and let the car tick over (idle) for 5 minutes, this time is crucial as this is when the ecu relearns it's settings. After that your car should be fine. Good luck. Ps if I got any part of that wrong could someone please correct me. Should be ok though as it worked on my bravo.

thx for the info mate ive managed too pick up a new tps sensor in the scrapyard 15 quid, got some one too put it on 4 me we"ll c if that does the job.they r gonna put it on the diagnostics gun 4 me to c if the sensor is broke or not but i have a replacement.

Usually if you have a dirty throttle body the revs drop down quickly. In your case the revs stays high so you dont have a problem like that but i suggest you to check all vacuum and breather hoses carefully for cracks or splits.

crank sensor couldnt be the cause, i agree with vacuum leak as the most likely cause; although if its a 1.6 then a stuck idle speed control actuator is common, if the idle rpm isnt higher when cold that would be a good clue that the problem is the idle speed control actuator
