As above my cooling fan will not cut in when the engine is getting to hot
It does work as it was bypassed to check it,and the temp gauge jumps up to max when it isent,but i know about this being a common fault at the back of the dial.

Dont think it is related to the the fan not cutting in or is it.

looks like its your thermostat, ive got a prob with my HGT 's temp shooting up in static traffic

if the temp gauge "shoots up" it usually means your temp gauge is the problem, the temperature cant really increase that quickly so thats always a good clue its the gauge thats the problem rather than the actual temperature. feel the hose goping from thermostat to rad, if its getting hot you know the thermostat is opening ok. leave the car idling for 15 mins, if the fan doesnt come on then it probably means it isnt working. the usual cause of that is rusty/dirty connections at the relay in front of battery tray.
