ok just got given a punto the bodywork is in fairly good condition but the paintwork sucks , its blue but really really faded ive been meaning to take a few pictures for you to have a look but the weather has been crap nothing but rain now what do people think would bring the paintwork back and keep it that way - i did t cut a little patch a few mnths back and it brang it up like new but it didnt stay like that so any help would be great , when the weather gets better i will post up to show the results

I had this problem on a red car without suitable protection it fades fairly quickly. I used an abbrasive polish (you've got t-cut) followed by Autoglyms Super Resin Polish and then followed up by Autoglyms Extra Gloss Protection, both readily available from any car shop. Found once I'd done this while you need to polish and reapply every so often it stopped the fading within a couple of weeks I was getting.

Yep, to keep the gloss, you have to seal the paint with a good wax, or the paint will oxidise.Red is the worse colour for it due to the pigmentation.
A tip for you is to get a container [milk bottle or jam jar is fav], and mix half T cut or similar and half top polish. Shake to gether and apply. Makes the work a lot easier and stops the T cut from sticking to the paintwork. Easier to buff. If the paintwork has a lot of car wash swirls in the paintwork, lightly go over the paintwork with some 1500 wet&dry first.

Is that Capri Blue? My Panda is this shade and when I bought it the bonnet had faded but the rest of the paint was a much richer colour. I started with the usual wash and dry, filled in scratched with a wax stick (chipstick, comes with Colour Magic) then 2 coats of Colour Magic which brought all the panels back to a matching colour. Finished with AG super resin polish which lightened the colour a little and left an absolutely lovely shine.

I've never tried a proper wax, though, as there are so many to choose from and so many different ways of applying it I just polish every few months and the paint looks great. :)

yes it is capri blue 451/a ;)

got my side reps/indicatords from a place called parrys mate

You can tell the difference the side panels look really flat at the moment, complete loss of shine, using that method you'll have it looking mint again soon. A quick blast with Super Resin & Extra Gloss every 3-6 months and it will stay shiney.
